Constantin Stanislavski, russian actor, co-founder of Russian National Theatre, developed the method of acting that carries his name.
His goal was to find the way to the most natural, believable acting. An actor, he said, should be able to draw on his experiences, on his inner feelings, ideas, beliefs, use and transform them to give life to his role, and then free himself to enact this character in its own terms, with its own internal logic.
